Balayage is one of the most requested looks at our Mirdif and Meydan lounges — and for good reason. Done well, it’s soft, sun-kissed and low-maintenance. But Dubai’s intense sun, salty beach days and constant air-conditioning can be tough on colour. Here’s how to protect your investment.
1. Wait before your first wash
Give your colour 48–72 hours before the first shampoo. This lets the cuticle fully close and the toner settle, so your balayage stays truer for longer.
2. Switch to colour-safe, sulphate-free care
Sulphates strip colour. A gentle, sulphate-free shampoo and a weekly bond-building treatment like K18 keep the hair strong and the tone rich. Ask your stylist which products suit your hair.
3. Shield from the sun (and the pool)
UV and chlorine are colour’s worst enemies. Wear a hat at the beach, rinse with fresh water before swimming, and use a leave-in with UV protection.
4. Book a gloss every 6–8 weeks
A quick toner or gloss refresh revives shine and neutralises brassiness — no full colour needed. It’s the secret to that just-left-the-salon look.
5. Don’t skip the trim
Healthy ends reflect light and make colour look more expensive. A trim every 8–10 weeks keeps everything looking polished.
